Open Access Policy
Lontara: Journal of Learning, Teaching, and Research is committed to the principle that scholarly knowledge should be freely and immediately available to the public.
All articles published by the journal are available through immediate open access. Readers may access published content without subscription fees, registration requirements, or access charges.
Immediate Open Access
The journal makes all published articles freely available online immediately after publication. No embargo period is applied to the published version of an article.
Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and otherwise use published articles in accordance with the terms of the applicable publication license.
Publication License
Articles published in Lontara: Journal of Learning, Teaching, and Research are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, commonly identified as CC BY 4.0.
Under this license, users may:
• copy and redistribute published material in any medium or format;
• share articles with students, researchers, institutions, and the public;
• adapt, remix, transform, translate, and build upon published material; and
• use published material for academic, educational, professional, or commercial purposes.
These permissions apply provided that users:
• give appropriate credit to the author or authors;
• identify Lontara: Journal of Learning, Teaching, and Research as the original place of publication;
• provide a link to the CC BY 4.0 license;
• indicate whether any changes were made; and
• do not imply that the author, journal, editor, or publisher endorses the reuse or adaptation.
Author Copyright
Authors retain copyright in their published articles.
By publishing with the journal, authors grant Lontara: Journal of Learning, Teaching, and Research and Malebbi Global Care the right of first publication.
Authors may reuse, distribute, archive, translate, adapt, and share their published work in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license.
Self-Archiving
Authors may deposit and share their manuscripts through:
• institutional repositories;
• subject-based repositories;
• personal or professional websites;
• academic networking platforms;
• teaching and learning platforms; and
• other lawful scholarly communication channels.
Authors are encouraged to provide complete bibliographic information and a link to the journal’s published version when sharing their articles.
No Embargo
The journal does not impose an embargo on the published version of an article. Authors and readers may share the published article immediately after publication, subject to the CC BY 4.0 license.
Reader Access
Readers are not required to pay subscription or access fees to:
• view article abstracts;
• download published articles;
• access references and supplementary materials;
• share links to published content; or
• use published articles for teaching, research, and scholarly communication.
Open access applies to all users regardless of institutional affiliation, geographic location, academic status, or professional background.
Author Fees and Open Access
The journal’s open-access policy concerns public access to published content. Access to published articles remains free for readers.
Any author charges, when applicable, must be stated transparently on the journal’s Article Processing Charges or Publication Fees page. Payment of any fee does not influence peer review, manuscript acceptance, or editorial decisions.
Editorial Independence
Editorial and peer-review decisions are made independently of financial considerations.
A manuscript is evaluated on the basis of its:
• relevance to the journal’s focus and scope;
• originality;
• academic quality;
• methodological rigor;
• ethical compliance;
• clarity; and
• contribution to educational knowledge or practice.
Payment does not guarantee acceptance or publication.
Third-Party Material
The CC BY 4.0 license applies to the article unless otherwise stated.
Some photographs, illustrations, instruments, datasets, tables, figures, or other materials obtained from third parties may be subject to different copyright or licensing terms.
Users who wish to reproduce third-party material must review the relevant credit line and obtain permission from the copyright holder when necessary.
Responsibility for Reuse
Users are responsible for ensuring that their reuse of published material complies with:
• the CC BY 4.0 license;
• copyright law;
• privacy and confidentiality requirements;
• ethical obligations; and
• any restrictions applying to third-party material.
Open Access and Academic Integrity
Open access does not remove the obligation to acknowledge sources.
Users must cite published articles appropriately and must not present another author’s ideas, words, data, or findings as their own.
Reuse that involves plagiarism, misrepresentation, distortion of findings, removal of attribution, or false endorsement is not permitted.
Long-Term Availability
The publisher maintains internal backups of journal data and publication files to support continuity and recovery.
The journal will announce participation in external digital preservation services only after the relevant service has been formally activated and verified.
