Manuscript Template

Authors must prepare their manuscripts using the official template of Acca: Journal of Academic Culture, Curriculum, and Assessment.

The manuscript template has been designed to ensure consistency in article structure, formatting, typography, citations, tables, figures, and references. Manuscripts that do not follow the official template may be returned to the authors before editorial assessment.

General Formatting Requirements

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
  • Paper size: A4.
  • Recommended manuscript length: 5,000–8,000 words, including tables, figures, notes, and references.
  • Line spacing: 1.15.
  • Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian.
  • Every manuscript must include an English title, abstract, and keywords.
  • The abstract must not exceed 250 words.
  • Authors must provide between three and five keywords.
  • Citations and references must follow the APA 7th edition.
  • Authors are encouraged to use Mendeley or Zotero to manage citations and references.

Recommended Manuscript Structure

Original research articles should generally contain the following sections:

  1. Title;
  2. Author names and affiliations;
  3. Abstract;
  4. Keywords;
  5. Introduction;
  6. Literature Review or Theoretical Framework, where applicable;
  7. Research Methods;
  8. Results;
  9. Discussion;
  10. Conclusion;
  11. Acknowledgments, where applicable;
  12. Funding Information, where applicable;
  13. Conflict of Interest Statement;
  14. Author Contribution Statement, where applicable; and
  15. References.

The manuscript structure may be adjusted for review articles, systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses, conceptual papers, policy analyses, program evaluations, case studies, research and development articles, perspectives, and other manuscript types.

Before Downloading the Template

Authors should ensure that:

  • the manuscript is relevant to the Focus and Scope of Acca;
  • the manuscript is original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal;
  • all authors have approved the manuscript and agreed to its submission;
  • ethical approval and informed consent information are included where required;
  • funding sources and conflicts of interest are disclosed;
  • any material use of generative artificial intelligence is disclosed; and
  • all cited sources are included in the reference list.

Authors must remove all instructional notes, sample text, and formatting guidance contained in the template before submitting the final manuscript.

The editorial team may return manuscripts that are incomplete, improperly formatted, outside the journal's scope, or inconsistent with the Author Guidelines.
